Though one of the most unique acts on the festival lineup, by all accounts their set was both enjoyed and embraced, and to quote Poule d’Or, “…few things are as entertaining as a room full of cool and tall pale-skinned hipsters trying to be a rap hip hop audience in broad daylight.” This fantastic gif proves it.

“With the original version of Superconductor having such a unique production style, we thought it would be dope to get some other producers’ take on our sound. We reached out to some beat guys that we respect and started getting some nice joints from them. The timing was crazy because by the time we gathered the remixes, Simon had come over to California from Copenhagen to work on our LP. We were able to sit together, live and direct, and vibe to all of the tracks before we took them to Proximal. This joint is a great mix of styles from a lot of up-and-coming heat bandits from all over the world that give our debut EP new life. A nice lil appetizer to hold folks over until our full length is out of the oven. We are proud to present it. ENJOY!”

Up first…
July 16th better make its way here quick as we are itching to share Wake‘s new (and by new we mean old) electronic dreamscape of a record, Old Sh*t.
Collaborating with fellow Proximal artist and label co-founder, Sahy Uhns, and his unbending desire to dive into the strange, they’ve created a concept record: a Wake Retrospective; allowing us a look and listen into a decade of musical archives Wake has been hoarding.
The tail-end of July at Proximal promises an unbelievable assortment of fresh new sounds when, on July 30th, we finally release The Superconductor Remixes, from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Producer, Simon Muschinsky and Rapper/Lyricist, NOTE), a duo pushing boundaries all over the place!
The League’s mind-bending mix of hip-hop and electronic music gets pushed to a whole new level of weird on The Superconductor Remixes as it gets dismantled and turned on its head by a who’s who of incredible international producers including Lotterose, Sleeve, Hanssen, Slow Spines, FCAN, LZRKMMNDR, OOFJ, Kinnel, Deflon, Zack Christ, St. Khan and our very own Wake.
