Benedek is more than just a “beat maker”. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Benedek is a multifaceted musician who is inspired by genres including funk, hip-hop, soul, progressive rock, jazz fusion, and house music. While he loves more modern genres as well, his melodic sensibilities recall cosmic styles of the ’70s and early ’80s, when synthesizers were beginning to take hold of the popular music landscape and musicianship, production, and technology were taking listeners to unprecedented realms. Along his musical quest he discovered that the older artists he was listening to had a lot in common with the classic, melodic video game music and hip-hop samples he had always loved. At age nine, Benedek started playing the electric guitar and has been hooked on music ever since. He uses his knowledge of synthesis and production techniques, as well as his playing abilities to take listeners on a funk driven, soulful, progressive journey through the deepest reaches of his mind.
